Overview

To ensure the proper scheduling and dispatch of all Traffic Controllers and equipment.

Start time is 5am 

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Coordinate, schedule and dispatch Traffic Controllers as well as appropriate company vehicles or equipment to job sites
  • Work closely with the project management team. Help with take offs when needed
  • Assist branch assistants with tracking equipment on rental ins/outs
  • After-hours calls during the week
  • On-call as scheduled which will include some weekends
  • Assist other offices with coordinating personal and field support as well as dispatching
  • Develop and/or maintain tracking method for documenting dispatch efforts as it pertains to Traffic Controller response records
  • Work with branch assistants on fleet & facility inspections as well as warehouse inventories.
  • Assist Area Manager with safety meetings.
  • Maintain and foster good working relationships between field crew and Project Managers
  • Be able to work with Traffic Control plans and understand the field resources required for the job
  • Maintain availability and/or coordinate on-call efforts after hours
  • Monitor employee time off and be able to find coverage to ensure proper job implementation
  • Report to Area Manager employee problems and/or concerns that may impact field operations
  • Shift will be 5am-2pm Monday -Friday

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

  • Construction knowledge is required. MUTCD knowledge is preferred.
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to read traffic control plans
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, google maps, TM Soft (Proprietary Software)

EQUIPMENT OPERATED:

  • Vehicles (Trucks/Cars) of various sizes
  • Flatbed trucks
  • Trailer mounted warning signs
  • Cones, delineators, drums, barricades, signs and various other traffic control devices
  • Trailer

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Requires standing & sitting for prolonged periods of time
  • Requires lifting up 50lb
  • Requires using hands to handle, control or lift objects
  • Requires being outside and exposed to environmental conditions
  • Requires being in construction environment
  • Requires repetitive movement
  • Exposure to work near moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment and moving vehicular traffic
  • Exposure to reasonable noise levels
  • Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum High school degree (or equivalent)
  • Valid California Driver’s License and good driver’s record (must be insurable through company policy)

PAY:
The salary wage for candidates who will work in Long Beach is $64,480. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, type, and years of experience within the industry, education, etc. Traffic Management, Inc. is a multi-state employer and this salary may not reflect positions in other states.
