WHO YOU ARE:

A valuable member of our Distribution Team which helps support TMI by providing products to our branches in a timely and efficient manner.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As a Distribution Driver you are responsible for the collection of products from vendors located in and around Southern California. You are also responsible for the physical distribution of products to all branches located in the Central and Southern California Regions of TMI

Responsibilities

Essential Duties

 

  • Interface with Distribution Manager or assigned personnel to obtain delivery/pick up schedule and corresponding documentation
  • Pull the necessary equipment to be delivered ensuring efficient and safe warehouse practices
  • Verify all loads for item/quantity accuracy and security; including when truck has been pre-loaded by other personnel
  • Limit on-site time by effectively communicating with receiving office ETA’s and learn individual warehouse layouts so that with or without local assistance, items can be correctly warehoused

Properly handle and deliver all documentation (packing slips etc) to Distribution Manager or assigned personnel

  • Communicate travel points (arrivals/departures) to Distribution Manager for real time logistical decision making
  • Delivery of both service equipment and resale inventory to the Southern and Central Regional Branches of Traffic Management
  • Product pick up and order verification from vendors located in Southern Ca.
  • When needed, perform sales, rental, or service deliveries when confirmed through Distribution Manager
  • The ability to operate construction equipment such as pick-up trucks, flat beds, and forklifts etc. all while applying safe driving procedures
  • Maintain all driver logs and vehicle inspection reports
  • Maintain a clean driver’s record
  • Assist in any necessary warehouse / inventory / fleet processes or projects.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Basic operating knowledge of construction equipment, including heavy haul.
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Possess a diligent attention to safety
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment
  • Maintain a positive work environment
  • Accurately complete and maintain all necessary pick up/ delivery paperwork
  • Current knowledge of DOT rules and regulations

Qualifications

 

 

 

Equipment Operated

 

  • Vehicles of various types and sizes not limited to: pick- up trucks, flat beds, Attenuator trucks, forklifts
  • Trailer mounted warning signs
  • Cones, delineators, drums, barricades, signs and various other traffic control devices

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Requires standing for prolonged periods of time
  • Requires lifting up 75lb
  • Requires using hands to handle, control or lift objects
  • Requires being outside and exposed to environmental conditions
  • Requires being in construction environment
  • Requires repetitive movement
  • Exposure to work near moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment and moving vehicular traffic
  • Exposure to reasonable noise levels
  • Must be able to fulfill essential job function in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner

 

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience operating similar equipment.
  • Must have valid Class C CDL driver's license with clean driving record (must be insurable through company insurance policy)

 

PAY:

The pay range for candidates who will work in Anahiem, CA $20.50 to $22.00. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, type, and years of experience within the industry, education, etc. Traffic Management, Inc. is a multi-state employer and this Salary range may not reflect positions in other states.
